Final June Update

This month has been slow on writing. I'm not super upset as I did write 2,000 words for What Do You Fear? in one weekend, but I have some increasing pressure to write this month- I'm about to be falling behind on my GYWO goal. I think I'm going to attempt just 6 days of writing for the remainder of the month. Three days for The Mentor Games and three for What Do You Fear?.
I've also done very little with libraries this month- I at least have checked out material from one and attended a writing critique meeting at another, which leaves the final library system to use. It's also the closest one to me. Technically I could consider audiobook loans via Libby as interacting with local libraries, but there's something so nice about going to the library in-person and wandering around the shelves for movies or books. Perhaps I'll make an errand of it tomorrow before work to go and camp out for a bit.
I also realize it's been a minute since I've shared my reading journey. I started The Inheritance Games series and am roadblocked by audiobook wait times of several weeks. I also realized that I have read her work as a child because I remember reading her book The Naturals in like 7th grade when the cover was had a gift box wrapped in yellow caution tape, so I went and re-read it recently. However, Dr. Barnes's work is very popular as there are several weeks' worth of holds on all her work.
In terms of physical book reads, I've DNFed one book, am loving Under The Heavens, and need to start reading another book. I'm censoring titles of books I've yet to read or have DNFed because I'm not looking to spread any hate or anything. I'm sure that the author is good at writing, the book just wasn't something present-day Duke wants to read. Maybe if I had seen the book a decade ago it'd be different, but I'm not 15 anymore.
I suppose my next post is the next chapter of WDYF? so my next update post will be on my birthday! Allegedly. We'll see. I'm also thinking of wrangling some feedback from my Beta Readers so I can start cracking on the next round of revisions for Ozryn 1. I think taking 3-4 months off of touching the manuscript is long enough and I really have some stellar ideas for some scenes I want to rewrite. Anywho, talk to you next time.
